Why Reedwild

What makes our approach
worth your time.

Unhurried by design

We do not rush visits or compress timelines. Each engagement moves at a pace the household finds comfortable, with no pressure to decide anything ahead of schedule.

Concrete deliverables

Every engagement ends with a physical or printed output — a folder system, a booklet, a bound volume — something the family can hold, keep, and pass on.

Handled with discretion

Family papers are personal. We handle all materials in the household itself — nothing is removed without agreement — and our documentation stays within the family.

A single familiar face

The same documentation host attends every visit throughout an engagement. Continuity matters when working with personal materials and family recollections.

Clear scope from the start

Before any visit begins, you receive a written description of what each engagement covers and what it does not. There are no surprises in scope or additional charges.

Rooted in Ipoh and Perak

We are a local practice. We understand the cultural and linguistic textures of households in this region, and we work in English, Malay, or a comfortable mixture of both.

Begin Here

Would you like to talk through
which engagement might suit your household?

A short conversation is usually enough to understand what would be most helpful. There is no obligation to proceed.

Questions

Things families often ask us.

What kinds of papers do you typically work with?

Utility bills, correspondence, receipts, insurance documents, property-related paperwork, handwritten letters, old photographs, and similar household materials. We do not work with financial instruments, signed legal documents, or items requiring professional handling by a licensed party.

How long does each visit usually take?

Most visits run between two and three hours, depending on the volume of materials and the pace of the household. We do not work to a strict clock — if an afternoon is going well, we continue; if the household needs a break, we pause.

Do you take any documents away?

No. All materials remain in the household at all times. If scanning is part of the engagement, it is done on-site using portable equipment. Digital copies are handed over to the family; we do not retain them.

What languages do you work in?

Primarily English and Bahasa Malaysia. Many Perak households mix both, and that is perfectly comfortable for us. If documents are in another language — Cantonese or Hakka script, for example — we can note and label them but do not offer translation as part of the service.

Is any of this work legal or financial in nature?

No. Our work is administrative, archival, and documentary. We do not offer legal guidance, financial advice, estate planning, or any form of representation. If your household needs those services, we can point you toward the appropriate professionals, but they sit outside what Reedwild does.

How do we pay, and when?

Payment is in Malaysian Ringgit. For the Paper Tidy, half is due when you confirm and half after the second visit. For the Conversation Series and Slow Programme, we split the total across the engagement in agreed instalments. Bank transfer is the standard method.

Do you travel outside Ipoh?

Within Perak, yes, we can travel to households in Taiping, Teluk Intan, and surrounding areas. A modest travel supplement applies for visits more than 50 kilometres from Ipoh town. Please enquire if you are unsure.
